Under Wings, I'd go with Angels. But you know, the kind of Angels that have to say 'Fear not,' as a preference to every sentence, otherwise their appearance might cause you to wet your pants or have a heart attack.

Since you asked for help in being indecisive ;)

Wings: Dragonflies? Butterflies/moths? Other bugs? Or a completely different flying mechanism, like dandelion puffs and those tree seeds that spin like helicopter blades

Monsters: Not that I am familiar with Chinese/Japanese mythology, but there are a lot of monsters there too! Like vengeful ghosts, water demons, foxes, racoons, snakes, skeletons, and vampires (the Chinese vampires that I know of aren't sexy at all. They are like zombies dressed in ancient Chinese clothing, and hop around like a bunny with their arms straight out in front of them.)

P.S. I got your email! Am trying to visualize it for maximum comic effect. :P
