Help a Sweet Chica Out, Por Favor?

I have no idea why I wrote the subject title that way. I blame the two cups of coffee.

Okay, I'm trying to decide between these names for the birdboy. I'd love some input, if y'all would be so kind:

[Poll #1352658]

Thanks! I'm actually leaning towards 'Ash' at the moment, but well, collaborative naming is fun! (Oh, and I need the results before 4:00 PM today, CST. No pressure! Ha.)

I like the name Asher. It means wealthy, generous, bountiful, and a name of a favorite character in a book I like.

I liked the meanings too, but I've always just enjoyed how it sounds. And I think 'Ash' is a great short-form. :)

Thank you for participating!

The name Anthony means one of my favorite words - inestimable. It also means priceless and other such synonyms, but to be inestimable. How amazing is that?

/word geek.

That is pretty amazing. :) I like the way it sounds, but I'm not sure about it because it seems a little too...'upscale' is the wrong word, but it's not quite right for this guy, I think. But I'm willing to give it a shot, depending on how the poll goes. ::g::

Thanks. :D

I like the name Asher A LOT, but I am less sure about Ash for short. I still think of the lead guy from the Pokemon show every time I hear Ash.

I voted for Luke. Luke and Asher have the same lovely tone to them. Ultimately Asher would do the trick.

[identity profile] taste-is-sweet.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. :) I still like Luke, but Ash grabbed me for some reason and has moved into the favourites. And it's funny--'Ash' to me is the main character from The Evil Dead, not Pokemon. I guess that shows the difference in our ages, eh? ::g::

Hahaha. I read my post over and immediately thought, "geez this definitely reiterates that I was a kid of the 90s".

Asher is the name of one of my favorite vampires from Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series.

I missed the poll. Dammit. I would have gone with Luke, but I like the name Asher.

Anthony! \o/

[identity profile] taste-is-sweet.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL. Why do you think I chose it, hon?

[identity profile] lavvyan.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Because it's a great name. Duh. ;)

[identity profile] anna-bird.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
They're all fine, but I'm stuck on Luke. Also, Asher is too reminiscent of Anita Blake to work for me. (Avian Ash could join Good Ash and Bad Ash, tho. :D )

[identity profile] taste-is-sweet.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hrm. Well, I haven't read Anita Blake, so I didn't know that. Oops. But hey, I still like it! ::g:: Thank you for the head's up, though.

HA! My thought too! Leah, if he doesn't have eyes that look like a Siberian Husky and a badly burned body, you might be okay. :)

[identity profile] taste-is-sweet.livejournal.com 2009-02-21 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Nope. His eyes are red-brown, like a hawk's. :) And he almost got burned, but it didn't happen. (I wrote about him in my Round Two post last week, doncha know.)

[identity profile] innana88.livejournal.com 2009-02-21 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Fucking hell! Stuff is slipping through the cracks, I tell you. I totally missed it. How? Howwwwww? *sobs* I will read both that one and the one from this week.

FYI: I have been voting really infrequently since it seems unfair for me to only vote on pieces I've read when I don't have time to read them all. I know not everyone operates according to those standards, but that's just how I roll. :)

Hey, I'm totally down with that, baby. :) If I can't read them all, I don't vote either. But it makes me happy that you'd like to read mine.

[identity profile] taste-is-sweet.livejournal.com 2009-02-21 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
And that was me. ::cough:: sorry. :)
