I don't know about that! I wouldn't say that around your husband at any rate! ;-)

I'm scheduled for an MRI next week, but they've already told me that I probably have a tear and need surgery. The thing is, the post-op care requires me to keep my arm in a sling for six weeks, not lifting it above my waist.

Yeah, right. That's not happening. There is simply no way I can do my job one-handed. I can't not work for six weeks; it's not an option. As I am now, the pain is manageable, I've found a way to sleep stacked on pillows so that I don't want to shoot myself, and I have about 40% use of my arm. It is *gradually* getting better. I'm being careful. So the plan is regardless of what the docs say, I'm going to defer any possible surgery until the winter (when things slow down anyway) and re-assess then. With any luck, I won't need the surgery by then.

Of course, I'd love to be able to sit at home for six weeks writing like mad, but there's that pesky problem about paying the bills. ;-)

I'm so sorry about your husband. I hope that he continues to get better and his mobility improves, too. ♥
