I'd heard of John-Boy, but I thought the show was Ponderosa, and when I couldn't find the character it seemed disingenuous to search for the name (since they were supposed to be off the top of my head, yo).

Obviously, if you're going to shoot a guy into space, they need to be named John. ::firm nod::
