Apparently SOPA and PIPA are not as dead as I thought. BOO.

I realize this is only important for the US, but BOO-YAH!

Of course, this doesn't guarantee that Stop Online Piracy Act (or it's bastard child, PIPA--Protect IP Act) won't rear their ugly, ugly heads again (especially if Obama loses the next election), but right now this is a great blow for freedom of expression in the US, and I am one very happy camper.

Not just the USA. Australia is taking a different path, but is headed in the same direction with an internet "Filter" on unspecifiedly "illegal" content coupled with a single government controlled bandwidth wholesaler, the NBN.
