After Today, Consider Me Gone

I am off to Portugal with the fam. I am looking forward to it with my usual mixture of glee and dread. Mostly dread at this stage, possibly because I haven't finished packing yet.

But, hell, it is Portugal, and I've had wonderful times every time I've been to Europe before. I've just never been so far from home with the kid, which is what's freaking me out.

::Sighs:: I wish I weren't worried. I'll probably feel fine once we're on the airplane. I hope.

Anyway, see you later, everyone! I'll be back in early July, though we'll apparently have internet access so I might be online every so often or more....

Yes, the Small Child in Question was great--until he wasn't, and then he was a Wee Demon from Hell, unfortunately. But that wasn't very often, luckily, though I have to admit he drove me to tears once (he's smart enough to have figured out every single button to push to drive me out of my mind, alas).

Mostly though, we had a wonderful time together, and I was very glad I got the chance to go. I promise I'll post about it as soon as I can, pictures included. :D

I am glad you had a wonderful time! I look forward to the post, whenever it is (I like vicarious holidays, and the thing about them is, it doesn't matter when they are posted, the weather is always the same :P ).

I was originally not going to give you any advanced warning, but then I realised that I don't know how parcels are delivered to you and that you might appreciate the advanced notice. (The extra bonus-- or torture, whichever-- of anticipation was entirely secondary!)

And I looked through my emails for comments waiting to be replied to and I didn't find any of yours (at least, not in the past month), so evidently I was worrying for no account! Silly Fish!

I do appreciate the advance warning, but just so you know, unless the package is sent by FedEx or UPS or some such or requires a signature, the post guys will just drop it in front of the door, ring the doorbell, and leave. We have even got a box nearly as big as I was full of replacement sofa cushions like that. And the anticipation was lovely. :)

I got it yesterday, and it was so sweet and charming and touching and wonderful that I was holding my little yarn cheesecake and I was almost in tears. Seriously. Your generosity and kindness touched me a great deal. Thank you.

And since I wrote 'touching' twice in the same paragraph, I should also add moving to that description. :) The cake slice is now on the shelf where I keep my sci-fi dollies action figures, because it wouldn't fit in the curio cabinet, and both places are where I put precious things.
