I've had similar conversations with other people too, and I definitely hear what you're saying. :) I also agree, but I still can't help thinking that what white people such as myself think is okay and even admirable traits, might be hurtful characterizations for PoC. Obviously I can't please everyone, but I still want to do the best possible.
